We were given a room on the ground floor that led into the tree-lined garden outside. The room was big enough for us, our two suitcases and two cabin bags without feeling squashed. The room had a small fridge big enough to fit our two water bottles and drinks. The bathroom had been renovated and was large enough to comfortably fit us in. There were plenty of towels, hand towels, bathmat etc. We loved the breakfast served on the rooftop garden, the best breakfast we have had while touring, with plenty of variety. The staff were wonderful - friendly and helpful, including from Laura in Reception to the staff serving breakfast. All in all a great stay and wish we had re-booked it when we returned to Rome for two nights later instead of where we booked (supposedly the Hotel Select Garden which turned out to be the Astoria Hotel but no-one told us the name change, and Google certainly didn't recognise. My review (poor) is on that site!)

First impressions of the area were mixed. The walk from the Termini ( 700m) takes you through a slightly run down area of Rome. The hotel itself is great. ALL staff very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Lovely breakfast in a rooftop setting although bar facilities elsewhere in the hotel limited. I can see why some reviews comment on the surroundings, but there are a dozen or so restaurants in an area a couple of minutes walk away that provide a great setting to eat and drink outside in the evenings with no issues at all. Great location to use the buses/ metro around Rome. Don't be put off by the area around the station- we, as a family of four felt perfectly safe throughout our four day stay.

Garden in central court yard. Our ground floor room opened up into a private area where we could sit under the trees which was a lovely surprise. The hotel was wonderfully quiet, with good air conditioning and a lovely lounge area with comfortable chairs. Room was large with fridge and nice bathroom. The included breakfast buffet on the roof was substantial with lots of choice. Nearby were great restaurants in San Lorenzo area. Felt less touristy and more local.🙂

Location was an easy walk (10-15 mins) from the main train station and easy access to the local bus close to the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and a nice rooftop location made enjoying a leisurely cup of coffee outside in the morning enjoyable. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We felt safe walking around in the evening and some nice local restaurants to eat at.

Overall, it was a very good experience staying at Anteneo Garden Hotel. The breakfast was very good, and staff was very kind and welcoming. The room was very good and spacious for the family of four; also clean and well organized. The location was good; walking distance from Roma termini; and the bus stop was very near that was helpful to go to the city.
